MAYBE IT ISN’T EVIL EYE BUT....JUST YOU?

MAYBE IT ISN’T EVIL EYE BUT....JUST YOU?

What If Your Belief in the Evil Eye Is the Very Thing Blocking Your Joy?

Let me take you back to a moment.

You’re sitting at a family gathering, excited with good news—maybe a new job, a new love, a new glow in your spirit you can’t quite put into words. You want to share it. You almost do. But then, that little whisper creeps in:

“Don't share your happiness, beware of the evil eye…”

So you shrink your smile. You laugh it off. You change the subject.
You tell yourself you’re just being careful. But deep down, it feels like you're dimming your own light just to feel… SAFE.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

If you grew up in a culture where the “EVIL EYE” (or NAZAR) is a constant background noise in your celebrations, then you probably know exactly what I mean. It’s that weird tension between wanting to be happy and being scared that your happiness might invite disaster.

But here’s the twist that no one talks about:

What If The Belief Itself Is Doing All The Damage?

You believe in the evil eye to protect yourself… But in the process, you are constantly looking over your shoulder—not because anything bad is happening, but because you’ve trained your brain to expect it.

AND THE BRAIN? It loves proving you right and finding evidence to what you believe. So if you believe joy is unsafe, it’ll go looking for reasons to fear it. If you believe people envy you, it’ll ignore the ones who actually love you.

Let’s Talk About 7 Common Evil Eye Beliefs That Are Quietly Sabotaging You:

Believing in nazar is basically saying: I don’t deserve good things.”

So when good things happen, you flinch. You brace for something bad. You reject ease because you think it won’t last—and sometimes, you even sabotage your own wins before anyone else can.

“I’m not allowed to be happy if others aren’t.”

So you MUTE your joy. You water down your blessings. You downplay how hard you worked. You make yourself small… to make others comfortable. Even if it means staying miserable, just to feel "SAFE."

“Other people’s envy is more powerful than God’s protection.”

You forget that you are divinely guided. That your light comes from something higher. And instead, you give all your power away… to side-eyes, WHISPERS, and imaginary curses.

“Being happy isn’t safe.”

So you pre-live pain. Rehearse loss. Hold back joy before it even fully lands. It’s like telling the universe, “Thanks, but no thanks—I can’t handle this.” And the universe listens.

“People are not happy for me.”

So you surround yourself with people who half-clap, half-care. You don’t let anyone all the way in. And the love you do have? You can’t even feel it. You’re too busy looking for who’s watching, not who’s rooting for you.

“Staying humble means staying quiet.”

But muting your happiness isn’t humility—it’s pretending to be modest, while secretly thinking you have it better and fear that it might be taken away by people who seem to have it “less”. There’s a difference between celebrating and showing off. And you’re allowed to CELEBRATE.

“Other people’s opinions matter more than my happiness.”

So you tiptoe. You delay joy. You live for the watchers, not for you. And eventually, joy starts to feel… heavy. Like a risk instead of a REWARD.

And when things don’t go well?  You blame NAZAR.

But let me ask you something, lovingly:

How can the universe celebrate you when you keep rejecting the good?
How can people support you when you don’t let them see you?

So Is Evil Eye Even Real?

MAYBE. Maybe not. But that’s not the point.

The REAL Question Is:
How much power have you given it?
How many blessings have you dimmed in the name of protection?
How much joy have you skipped out on just to feel invisible enough to be safe?

There are people who want you to WIN.
But they can’t celebrate what you’re too afraid to CLAIM.

And maybe it’s time to CHANGE that.
