prescribed some meds and said if it didn't subside after a two-week course, we'd need further tests.
Mind you, those 2 weeks were one of the most terrifying times of my life.
- I kept staring at the mirror measuring it.
- I kept googling the same damn thing.
- I was a broken record, constantly talking about it at the dinner table, to random people.
- I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat.
Then thank fcking God, it started to subside after a week.
It turned out to be a lymph node infection.
I was so grateful, yet I still complained: "Why tf didn't the Dr just say that first instead of throwing the C-word right away?"
I spent 2 weeks unnecessarily in turmoil.
Fast forward 2 years later.
They found a lump on my breast.
And again, they said further tests were needed to rule out the C-word.
This time, I could feel the fainting rush coming, but i immediately took a deep breath and said loudly, "Okay."
Louder than intended, but it was how I got my brain to stop racing and my nervous system to chill.
When I shared it with my family, my voice didn't crack.
I immediately said, "Even if… I knew I was going to be okay.”
While waiting on results, I was sh*tting bricks obviously, but I wasn't consumed by it.
I didn't google much, and I didn't overly talk about it.
There was more certainty.
I knew I’d do everything in my power to handle what I could, and surrender what I couldn't control.
Two weeks later, it was ruled out as a hormonal cyst.
Thank God, once again.
This time, I was grateful the Dr laid out every scenario—including the worst case—because it made me prepared and proactive. A sentiment I didn't share during the first incident..
Similar scares. Two completely different reactions.
Why? What was the difference?
It's not just "mindset." It’s not enough to fake positivity; you can't bullshit your fears.
You need actual tools to catch and break the spiral.
To challenge, regulate, and shift your state so it sticks.
Because the fearful loop will come back, and you need to know how to navigate it repetitively until the frequency and intensity lessen.
That is exactly what I’m teaching in my upcoming online workshop:
Underthink It.
You’ll learn how to combat overthinking for good, filter your thoughts, and take control of your mind even in scary situations.
When: October 31st (Saturday) at 11:00 AM GMT+7 (Online, worldwide).
If you're sick of getting consumed by doom stories that cause totally unnecessary stress, you need to be in this room.
No one is telling you not to worry.
But your own thoughts can make you even sicker than you know.
It's impossible NOT to think when we're faced with adverse situations.
But the quality and frequency of our thoughts matter more than anything.
Most of us get carried away, entertaining the absolute worst-case scenario and letting it consume our entire reality. I know what that feels like, and how impossible it feels to stop.
But the longer you stay in that state, the more it messed with your decisions, your mood, and the people around you.
It makes you impulsive, causes you to withdraw, and physically makes you sick.
But there is a technique to break the loop and keep you in a neutral, manageable state.
You just need the right tools and practice.
That’s why I’m bringing back one of my most impactful workshops—bigger and better.
